  1. My Chance

From the album Love Along The Way

This song tells the heart-wrenching story of a woman's regret after choosing to terminate a pregnancy early in her life. It has touched many lives all over the world.

It seems that human life is losing its value more and more each day. This song helps us to not only be more aware of, but also reminds us to share compassion and love with those who are hurting.

Three years ago in the midst of chaos and a career that was rapidly declining, God showed up in a big way. At a time when most industry professionals would have said "don't do it," I said "yes" to God's call. He asked me to use my music to be a voice for the voiceless. Two weeks later this song came from a friend of a friend who had no idea that God had revealed this to me.

This experience tested my faith in a way that I had never experienced before and forced me to take God out of the tiny little box I had managed to stuff Him into. Up to this point I had never traveled and done concerts outside the United States. Within 6 months of "My Chance" being released, God took me to New Zealand and up into Canada to share this song. I realized and was able to experience that with God all things are possible.

Saying "yes" to God's call has saved 2 little lives that I know of, and I pray many more will be spared as a result of this beautiful song.

Lyrics

My Chance
(Rick Shadrick, JT Tallent & Jaime Thietten)

Leaves were fallin' on Sunrise road
I watched her mamma button her coat
And then I heard that little girl say
Can your kid come out and play

I tried to swallow the lump in my throat
Said we couldn't wait to bring him home
Ain't it funny how you forget
We were gonna call him Chance

My Chance
He would've had eyes as blue as oceans
My Chance
He would've been an angel from above
I would've sung him lullabies
Before he went to bed
But I missed, I missed my chance

I bought him the cutest little shoes
Painted my room in pastel blues
But they said we were to young
To raise a son

They promised we’d never regret it
And to this day, their words
Their words still hurt
We prayed each day
That God would understand
But we never got a second chance

Oh, eyes as blue as oceans
He would've been an angel from above
I would've sung him lullabies
Before he went to bed
But I missed, I missed my chance

My angel
I would've sung him lullabies
Before he went to be
But I missed, I missed my chance
My chance
