Well, It’s been Awhile. I can’t believe it’s September already!
I hope you all had a wonderful summer. We’ve been so busy working and spending time with family that the summer has just flown by. It has definitely been a transition moving back home but we are finally getting into the swing of things. Pete started school last week and we are both working like crazy to pay for it as we go and trying not to incur more student loan debt. Not easy, but worth it!
My Husband Lost His Dad Last Week
As I mentioned in my last post, Pete’s dad’s health was getting worse since suffering from a massive stroke that hit him Thanksgiving of 2009. Last Wednesday we got the phone call that he passed away. Thank you for all of your prayers during this time. It has been a long road. We miss him but we are glad that he is no longer suffering. Memorial service is set for end of September. If you get a moment, I ask that you please say a prayer for Pete, his siblings and the rest of his family.
15th Wedding Anniversary
On a happy note, last Thursday, Aug 29, marked 15 years of marriage for us. I am so thankful that God brought Pete into my life 17 years ago. I honestly don’t know what I would do without him and I consider myself the luckiest girl in the world. We celebrated the Sunday before our anniversary. He took me to my favorite pizza place that serves dessert pizza (Bavarian cream and Oreo Cookie). No fancy shmancy restaurants for this girl. He knows me well – Thank you sweetie.
On The Music Front
Things are going good. I am very thankful that the calendar has not been full. It has given me time to get “into the groove” at my part-time job, teaching voice lessons, as well as get settled. But now I’m ready to get busier and I have a couple of exciting things coming up.
1. South Dakota Right to Life Banquet in Platte SD September 21. If you live in the area, come support South Dakota Right to Life. Check website for more details. http://www.sdrl.org
2. Then in November (21-23) I head to Indianapolis to sing for the National Catholic Youth Conference. There are over 20,000 teens who come to this event every year and I can’t wait to spend time with them. If you are coming, I am singing for the Mega Workshop session on Friday around 11a.m. Would love to see you there. I will also have a booth, so be sure to stop by and say “hi”. And, of course, I will always continue to speak and do concerts for Pro-life events and fundraisers … spreading the message that “There is no such thing as an unwanted child”.
