Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! We’re already halfway through January and things are off to a great start!

I’ve been in Nashville TN, since the 6th, recording songs for the new Catholic Hymns CD that we are hoping to release by mid February. It’s been a very fast but exciting adventure. We recorded the music in 2 days and cut vocals in 3 days. Talk about a whirlwind. But God did some amazing things in those 5 days and I can’t wait for you to hear the finished product. “I” can’t wait to hear the finished product myself!

I want to thank the very generous donors who contributed to this project. Without you, this project wouldn’t have happened. I am humbled that God continues to open doors and provide ways for me to continue this ministry through such wonderful people. Thank you.

Dave Cleveland (friend and amazing guitarist) helped arrange everything and set the recording of this project in motion. Monday we all met up at McPherson Studios on music row in Nashville. Dave and Regi Stone (friend, singer and amazing pianist) played on the record and did such a beautiful job. Matt Butler (cello) and David Davidson (violin) shared their incredible talents as well.

I was so excited to bring Shaun Shankel (producer of my last record) in to produce my vocals. We cut vocals to the 11 songs Wednesday through Friday. It was so great getting back into the studio and working with Shaun again. He is great at this and I feel blessed he agreed to help out again.

Michael Head is engineering the project and I’ve really enjoyed working with/getting to know him. I feel fortunate to be surrounded with very “ministry minded” people and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Mixing and Mastering happen later this week and next and then it’s off to print. :) I must say that doing this all in one trip has its ups and downs. The “up” is that we get it done and to you quicker. The “down” is that it’s so hard to be away from Pete (my hubby) for this long. 10 days away from him hasn’t been fun, but I’ve been very busy so it’s going fast. Keep an eye out on the site for the new CD to be released mid February.

In addition to recording the CD, Pete and I started hosting a new Teen Radio program two times a month on Salt and Light Catholic Radio called “Made For More” (air’s in Boise and Twin Falls Idaho and surrounding towns). The first one aired Friday and unfortunately I wasn’t home to hear it. If you live in those areas, the shows air Fridays at 3:30. You can get more information and listen online at www.saltandlightradio.com

Would You Like A Concert In Your Church/Parish?
Since this cd is going to be a collection of Catholic Hymns and Favorites I would love the opportunity to come to your parish and share the new music. Please email me if you think your church/parish would be interested and I’ll see what I can do to get there. I can’t wait to sing these new songs for you. We are currently booking Lenten and Easter concerts.

January is Sanctity of Life Month. With this being the 40th anniversary of Roe vs Wade there will be thousands of pro-lifers attending the March for Life in Washington D.C. on the 25th. I’m not able to go this year but really really wish I could. Over 50 million children have lost their lives to abortion and millions of women and men have been hurt as a result. Let’s keep all of them in our prayers. And please continue to pray for a change of heart in our world, that we will all learn and show respect for life at all stages.
Have a wonderful January and thank you for continuing to keep this ministry in your prayers.

Jaime
